As a curiosity, if I have a VMWare player running, and release the keyboard from the VMWare client (Windows XP) to the host (Fedora 14) after a period of inactivity, the screen will start fading uninteruptably at that point, with or without the patch.
This may be intended behaviour, since any other behaviour would mean that an active and focused VMWare player would effectively disable the screen lock. However, it's still annoying to have to wait for the fade to complete.
The fading seems to take a very different length of time before completing, though.
These are all just observations that I am unsure whether have anything to do with the bug at hand, I leave that to the maintainers.
