No xorg.conf. dmesg and Xorg logs attached. Not posting full /v/l/m since it contains IP addresses I don't want announced here; give me a grep cmdline to extract what's needed and I'll do it.

This is fading out to the screensaver. My laptop has no facility for software brightness control.
