I think Unetbootin would be moved to main if Ubuntu makes it its default boot disk creator, so in that case the importance of this bug would be "Critical".

The information about how you can make Unetbootin to be upgraded in a stable Ubuntu release is here:

Also other thing that would be interesting Unetbootin to have is their databases about which releases are out there put into a different package, as databases are candidates for upgrade on stable releases:
