FYI I'm still seeing this on Ubuntu 18.04 running on AWS:

When running:
lxc delete uni09-2018-08-02-08-01-46 --force
It very often ends up in ERROR state, with "unregister_netdevice: waiting for eth0 to become free. Usage count = 1" being added to dmesg.
