Ruslan (#80) solution worked also for me:
- amarok MTP plugin disabled
- amarok restarted
- it is now working

As Stephen, I'm not KDE user (Xubuntu) but I use amarok always in systray ;)

It would be nice to fix amarok mtp plugin.
