Interesting indeed. I also have a Logitech mouse (MX500) - but then who doesn't?
I tried plugging it into my ps2 mouse connector (using an interface, obviously). I don't know whether it fixes my problem yet, as I am one of the ones where the problem only comes up after a while and not immediately after log-in. However, it certainly hasn't fixed glxgears at all ...
Does anyone else have the glxgears problem or is it just me?
Phil Doriff - you're fix above looks interesting .. I don't have a /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf file at all ... I have a nvidia-graphics-drivers.conf but i only contains:
blacklist nouveau
blacklist lbm-nouveau
blacklist nvidia-173
blacklist nvidia-96

Running sudo modprobe usbhid mousepoll=10 doesn't fix glxgears
