Bug Description
We have seen some reports of these scarey messages appearing, across various of our releases. Looking at the upstream discussion we should expect something official to come down probabally from Al Viro. As we are about to hit kernel freeze it seems appropriate to stick something in to cover the worst of the offenders.
I have confirmed that the 32bit compat ioctl numbers for tapes are correct for precise. (apw)
