Bug Description

[Impact]
We are seeing build failures in ADT when building for an autopkgtest profile driven build on armhf.

[Test Case]
On armhf:
sudo apt build-dep linux
apt source linux
cd linux-*
sh ./debian/tests/rebuild

[Regression Risk]
The required code change only comes into play when doing builds of the "autopkgtest" profile. So, the biggest risk is that we regress something in the (currently failing) autopkgtests.
