Synthetic module 'zope.app.menus' is confusing

It has been really confusing to track down that 'zope.app.menus' is not, in fact, an egg nobody has ever heard about, but rather a synthetic module created by zope.browsermenu to store stuff in.

I do not know the history and rationale behind this implementation, but I do wonder if there isn't a clearer alternative to do this.
