Bug Description

It would be convenient to be able to enable the horizontal scrollbar in the index panel.

One word is missing width. This occurs only in a large depth. I use mostly hierarchical data organization and the tree has a large depth of nesting. Pages can have quite long names. If the window is not located on the whole screen but for example at the half the index panel circumcise the end of the page names. I have to expand the index panel reducing the width of the main area. I understand that it's a trifle but for me personally it is sometimes not enough.

Have to look into it - scrollbar and current implemented truncation are
not compatible, so have to check if I can make them co-exist in some way.

One suggestion as a work around is to close the index and access it with
"<Ctrl><Space>". That way the main area is maximized and index only shown
when navigating.
