Bug Description

Zim 0.28, Kubuntu 8.04 (KDE 3.5.10). Copying and pasting text with the Ctrl-[C|V] keyboard shortcuts works as expected. Copying and pasting text across pages via highlight and middle-click is broken.

The user can highlight text in Zim and paste into the same page, and into other applications.
The user can highlight text in other applications and paste into multiple pages in Zim.
The user _cannot_ highlight text in Zim and paste to another page in the same Zim notebook.
The user _cannot_ highlight text in Zim and paste to a page in a different Zim notebook.

Changed in zim:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

Pasting now works as intended in the python branch. Pasting with middle-click uses the exact same code as ^V.

This issue seems to be broken again in 0.55.

Middle-click paste from text in Zim into either Zim or into another application only works if the selection in Zim is still highlighted.

To reproduce:
1) Highlight text in Zim.
2) Middle click in Zim page or in text editor, see that the text is pasted.
3) Click in the Zim window so that the text is no longer highlighted.
4) Middle click in Zim page or in text editor, see that the text is no longer pasted.

The text should remain in the clipboard even after it is no longer selected in Zim. Every other application that presents text to the user (Web browsers, text editors) work this way.

Thanks.
