tasklist lists lines starting with any special character like <=.-{}+(

Bug Description
tasklist shows not only lines starting with an open checkmark [ ] and FIXME or TODO lines,
but many more lines simply starting with one of the characters <=.-{}+(,
even if they are preceded by blanks or tabs.
running Kubuntu, 16.04:
