Bug Description
Some pages on the wiki might contain sensitive information:
- email addresses
- financial information
- Hilary Clinton's (Killary) emails
- surprise birthday party arrangements
It would be nice if there was an option to 'password protect' a page.
It would mean that you would have to enter a password in order
to see the page.
Perhaps the page would display the base64 rendering of the page
in it's encrypted format, so that a user could see it was an
encrypted page.
It doesn't have to be military grade encryption.
It might simply be a simple XOR encryption, using the password
as a key. So, relatively simple to implement.
This only needs to work for the text:
This doesn't need to work for all sub-pages of the current page.
This doesn't need to encrypt attachments on the current page.
This doesn't need to encrypt images on the current page.
I hope you like my suggestion... I'm using Zim as a private and personal
journalling system. So.. having pages i can password protect means
I can feel more secure about writing things 'freely' to my journal.
Thanks for your help (it's a great wiki!)
playground :)
Probably best would be to have a block inside a page that is encrypted rather than the whole page. That way it can be handled by a plugin without changing basic file system interaction of the notebook.
