2012-10-21 10:27:47 zapyon description I tried the following sample text (using Zim 0.57 on Linux Mint Debian Edition): //This paragraph is set in **italics** and contains a [[Startseite|hyperlink]] as well as some ~~cancelled~~ text.// Actually, I edited the text in a text editor and then loaded it in the Zim wiki the file belonged to. The result was: The "//" were not interpreted as "italics" but displayed as leading and trailing "//", the markup for bold, link, and strike-through was interpreted. After opening the test notebook, the cursor is positioned at the end of the text. Pressing enter erases the bold, link, and strike-through markup and interprets the italics markup. Zim then saves the text with the new markup. It is also impossible to achieve nested markup using Zims WYSIWYG editor. While using combined bold+italics might be questionable there are cases where nested markup is useful or required: Think of a paragraph quoted from somewhere else, quoted in italics, that contains a hyperlink. Trying this in Zim will result in a non-italics link inside the italics text which is usually not what was intended. If you first insert the link and then format the paragraph as "italics" the link is erased, removing the link data, i.e. destroying information. Please make it possible to nest formatting. Kind regards Andreas I tried the following sample text (using Zim 0.57 on Linux Mint Debian Edition):   //This paragraph is set in italics, has some **bold text**, __underlined text__, and contains a [[Home|hyperlink]] as well as some cancelled text.// Actually, I edited the text in a text editor and then loaded it in the Zim wiki the file belonged to.
