Bug Description

Dell Inspiron 1545 (aka 15n) hangs during boot (xsplash) using Ubuntu 10.04 beta 2 Live CDROM. Ubuntu splash screen showing with dots below "Ubunut" but the dot animation stops and the machine hangs. This is a new Dell that was ordered configured with Ubuntu 9.04. Ubuntu 9.10 Live CDROM boots on this machine and that version of the OS installs and runs.

Ok, I'm told this is an Intel GM45 chip.

Please boot the CD with the 'nomodeset' option added to the commandline, and report the results.

Please also boot without the 'splash' option, and report the results from that boot.
