Xsplash looks very ugly at some resolutions

Bug Description

Both the white "Circle of friends" logo(I'm not certain this is xsplash), and the chocolate-brown XSplash boot screen look quite distorted with my 24" 1920x1080 monitor. The gradients in the brown XSplash are very noticable, and the "circle of friends" logo is clearly squashed and elongated. Please make sure this works on all standard-resolution monitors before it is released.

Yes, several people in the Testing subforum at Ubuntuforums.org report the
same issue.
