Bug Description

I think it might have been something to do with plugging in external USB? Had a wireless mouse already attached that die at the same time.

[Problem]
GPU lockup. No compositor running. First time user experienced a gpu freeze.

Hmm, WAIT_FOR_EVENT, looks like a DRI2 copybuffer that died. Hopefully the user was running some GL application at the time! There's not enough evidence here to tie this to the hotplug-disable hangs, but can we clarify that and ask Simon if a mode switch occurred at the time of the hang?

Simon, are you able to reproduce this lockup at all? Or did it only occur this one time?

If so, what are you running when it occurs? Like, any particular 3D applications?

When the freeze happened, were you doing any resolution changing, or enabling/disabling an external monitor, or any other changes to the monitors?

I notice you had upgraded (or at least updated) the previous day. Is there any chance you updated and then did not reboot, and then the lockup happened? If so, perhaps the bug was just caused by some version skews?

Anything else you can share that might help us trace this down?
