A complement, with the same machine (SB61V40) and the same chipset Intel 82865G :
and
libgl1-mesa-dri_8.0.4-0ubuntu0.3_i386
libgl1-mesa-glx_8.0.4-0ubuntu0.3_i386
Precise 12.04, glxinfo | grep render ->
direct rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 865G x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL is OK

But with Quantal 12.10 (kernel 3.5.0-23), glxinfo | grep render ->
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
  Major opcode of failed request: 153 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
  Serial number of failed request: 22
  Current serial number in output stream: 25
-> OpenGL is KO

(libgl1-mesa-dri and libgl1-mesa-glx_9..... in Quantal)
Thanks
