Bug Description
The last time I used a Debian based linux was in 2002 so things have changed but this has me stumped.
I'm obviously using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2.
Hardware is an ASUS Zenbook UX31.
When I boot with my Logitech unified keyboard and mouse and go to X the input from both keyboards show up in X. However only the wireless mouse movement shows up in X.
Checking /dev/input the wireless mouse is on /dev/input/mouse0 and /dev/input/mice. I can see activity from the touchpad using /dev/input/mice and /dev/input/mouse1. I was surprised as I would have thought the onboard touchpad would have registered first.
When I last used X I was used to editing xorg.conf but I see this has all been abstracted. So I've found the xinput command in the hope this sheds some light.

This is probably an X11 configuration/
If you want me to try anything let me know. This is a new install and can be blown away without any angst at this time.
I believe this to be a bug as multiple keyboards and input devices are supported by X11 and I certainly had it working in Debian in 2002 and Gentoo in 2004 and FreeBSD in 2006.

Reinstalling restored touchpad functionality.
I did install and remove xfstt. I wonder if that caused the problem?
I had also been using the xrandr command but that shouldn't have caused a lock-out of the device.
There was no problems when booting to Windows 7, both keyboards and mice were recognized. Going back to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2 still only recognized the wireless mouse before the reinstall.
I'll update this bug tomorrow. It may have been the screen saver grabbing the touchpad input but that still doesn't make sense as the problem existed across a full power cycle.
And since Zenbooks are a very, very small usergroup I don't expect much help or for this to be priority but if anyone who reads this has any tests I'm happy to try them.
