Bug Description

I have acquired a new PC with Intel Atom motherboard, and installed Ubuntu 10.04 on it after a long trouble free experience with Ubuntu. However, ever since I experience a blackout screen for a few seconds, and after that a menu listing tells me that the system could not detect my video settings. The first option is to run in default configuration just for the session, when i choose it the genome screen reappears and the system works normally. But if I choose trouble shooting I am informed that the logfile "$xorg_backup_file" would be available here. But, I do not know where to find it.

Has someone found a solution to my problem, if yes, what is it. If not when can I expect a solution.

The exact message I see is as follows:

Ubuntu is running in low graphic mode

Your screen, graphic card and input device settings, could not be detected correctly. You need to configure them yourself.
