Bug Description
Hardware: Targa Traveller 826, Mobility Radeon X700 (PCI-Express)
Software: Kubuntu Dapper Flight 3 i386, latest updates as of 09-Feb-2006.
xserver-
Symptoms: Booting the system, all you get is a black screen where you'd expect the kdm login. Console works, though.
Examining the Xorg.log revealed that the x-server recognises the laptop's analog VGA port as primary display, but doesn't seem to come to grips with the built-in LCD. Obviously, kdm gets started on the VGA port, leaving the LCD black.
I'll attach the Xorg.0.log and Xorg.conf asap
Workaround: install fglrx drivers , that works.
X used to just work with Dapper Flight 2.
