Bug Description

Starting xpad from the command line results in 4 instances of the warning:
"There is a problem in the program Xpad. In function 'xpad_pad_toolbar_size_allocate' the variable 'event->height' is not a positive number. Please send a bugreport to https://bugs.launchpad.net/xpad/+filebug to help improve Xpad."

No instances of xpad are visible nor does it appear in the system tray.

Which Xpad version ?

If it is not the current latest (5.8) would you mind to try that?

Just built 5.8.0 on Ubuntu 22.04 and that problem went away.
Running xpad -s from the command line now opens all notes.

Running xpad from the launcher on the task bar doesn't open windows though.

I also notice that xpad -v reports "Xpad 5.8" but
the Help -> About screen shows it as version 5.4.

I guess you give your own answer. :)
Try to completely deinstall Xpad 5.4 and install 5.8 properly (sudo make install).

Does that help?

I had removed 5.4, but there must have been something sticking around in the background.
After a reboot, xpad now reports 5.8.
Thanks!
