Bug Description
In 5.4.0, running 'make check' fails in ./po because it still expects xpad.desktop.in to exist in the basedir of the source, although that file was moved to ./data in r993.
While the issue is trivial to work around by simply not running 'make check' and therefore also won't show up in a typical manual build, the default command sequence for building the debian package does include that command and thus triggered the bug.
