Bug Description

Launching xpad with the setting autostart_new_pad 1 yields the error "Can't find signal function address:" and the program fails to start. Reverting its value back to 0 allows me to start it again.

Hi Mitsuru,

Which version of Xpad do you use?
Do you believe it happens only on your specific DE + WM combination? Or do you have other combinations where the same problem shows up?

XPad 4.8. I'm not sure if it happens only with my specific DE + WM or anything. Are there log files anywhere that I can upload? Thanks

Confirmed on Xpad 4.9.

Workaround is to disable the new pad setting with a text editor, so at least Xpad can load succesfully.

Change ~/.config/xpad/default-style

From:
autostart_new_pad 1
To:
autostart_new_pad 0

Changed in xpad:
status: New → Confirmed
milestone: none → 5.0.0
importance: Undecided → High
Changed in xpad:
assignee: nobody → Arthur Borsboom (arthurborsboom)
status: Confirmed → In Progress
status: In Progress → Fix Committed
Changed in xpad:
status: Fix Committed → Fix Released
