Hi John,

I remember these issues and they should have been solved in newer version 4.3 or 4.4 if I recall correct.

Are you able to try a newer version, for example v4.5?

Hi Arthur
Well thanks for getting in touch a bit of a surprise and if you could help me further I would be grateful?
Firstly I am a very uneducated  Linux user more an escapee from Windows; and do not have the time to explore the details of Linux (eg the use of "Terminal" to manage the installation of code updates etc )Although I was familiar with basic a long time ago when the first Apple PC's landed in the UK { I claim to be one of the first to use Visicalc in the UK!} I have long lost the patience of learning how to do new software things as at 68 years young time is running out!
I downloaded the XPad utility from the Ubuntu software Centre and it is still available but only version 4.2 is listed, which I have installed on my PC. Could this source be updated with the latest version? I would find this the easiest way for me to update my PC's version.
On recent use of XPad I have found that the annoying error message is no more; so something must have changed via the many Ubuntu updates since my initial bug report.
Thanks again
John

Hi John,

It sounds like you have retrieved a newer versiin of Xpad. Ubuntu 15.04 and newer uses Xpad 4.5
Would you mind to verify which version of Xpad is currently installed?

My guess is that this issue has been fixed in a newer version of Xpad.
For that reason I am closing this bug report.
