Expected behavior:
When a new application window is created and positioned at the top of the sceen
or when an existing window is switched to full-screen
it should snap to / touch the Panels with its external edges.
Encountered behavior:
In a multi-monitor setup, windows ignore Panels and touch / snap to the edges of the screen instead. The effect is that the Panels obscure important parts of the windows (top title bar with minimize/maximize buttons and often times a status bar at the bottom).
It's extremely annoying, because you loose the ease of control over your windows. (The workaround, I just discovered, is to use the Alt-key with mouse buttons, which provides similar functionality to the top bar. But, obviously, this is absolutely insufficient.)
Also, I find it quite an important problem, as multi-monitor setups are more and more popular. Partly because monitors became dirt cheap, partly because many people don't have desktops, but connect their laptops to full-sized monitors at home (as I do). |

EDIT: OK, it doesn't always happen. Perhaps it's limited to Ubuntu sessions during which monitor settings have been edited. So perhaps after rebooting Ubuntu will behave itself.
