mid-post nick tab completion does not add trailing space

Bug Description
Nick tab completion works OK at the start of a post (trailing colon and space added). However in mid-post, a trailing space is not automatically added.
Of course this may be intentional :-) but it does make tab completion inconsistent.
Version 0.9-0ubuntu5 (Ubuntu Dapper Flight 4)
