Bug Description

I just performed my very first installation of Wubi. exe where I installed Wubi 11.10 "ubuntu-11.10-desktop-i386.iso" on Windows XP Professional SP3, installing "Ubuntu".
Now when I reboot as asked after finish the install Wizard and trying to boot from Ubuntu I got the following error message:

Quote:
Try (hd0,0): NTFS5: No wubildr
Try (hd0,1): NTFS5: error: "prefix" is not set.

I saw that this was posted previously but in my case, it does not show just for a few seconds or couple of minutes, it finally never boot and the screen stays showing the message "for ever".

I have just found information in related issues where an "Error Checking" was enough to overcome a similar issue, or I've read that the messages do not represent any harm...but does not fit to the unexpected behavior that I am facing.
Thank you very much in advance.

I was suggested by " bcbc" from Wubi Megathread to log a bug and also try the following:

"You could try defragmenting and running chkdsk. This might help. Or another workaround is to copy the wubildr file (in C:\) to the root of first partition on the computer. You can either do this from a live CD, or if you can mount the first physical partition from Windows you can do it there (note some partitions are hidden in windows)."

I performed the defragmenting and run the chkdsk and did not resolve the issue and also the wubildr file was already copied to the root of my first partition then I am logging this bug.
