Bug Description
Hi guys. Here's what happened:
I installed Mint, inside Vista, which I think is using WUBI, from a mounted .ISO. I needed to wipe it & reinstall so I did using a different username & password. The username was different than my Vista username(relevant). I couldn't get the password to work properly. I reintalled again using the Vista username & another password. The user credentials worked for one login cycle then failed. I tried various things, including formating the drive with only the Mint installation twice, & I could not get better than a single login before the password changed, & the username reset to that of the second install. I made about 4 or 5 attempts using the same username as Vista & minty12Fresh or my vista password for a password. The results were either a complete lack of recognition of a new installation or a success installation & one reboot prior to reverting to the second login & an unknown password.
What I know from this is that the uninstall is not working properly on a HP laptop 3 partition system with 1 Vista drive, one devoted to a WUBI Mint install, & a small recovery partition. If you guys get a chance to deal with the problem & have any further questions I'd be happy to answer them. The problem may have been resolved by choosing a different username than the other installs, but I'm not sure yet.
