Bug Description

The install works perfectly and the boot is perfect except when wubi only boots to a purple background with no panels not even right click capabilities. I expected a full desktop just like the live cd.

I'm experiencing this as well. The linux installation seems to be completed. There's no way to get to a console or anything else. There is no response to key presses and mouse clicks don't do anything either. Wubi just sits at a purple background with a mouse cursor and nothing happens. The login prompt doesn't come up.

This was the case for me on the first reboot that was supposed to complete the installation and then on subsequent reboots as well.

Apparently the installation wasn't complete -- I rebooted, pressed ESC for boot options, and picked "safe mode" instead of normal. Then the installation actually finished.

Now I can log in, but I end up with a blank screen with a purple background image as described in the original bug.
