When I disable the memory card readers, it works just fine. It does this under Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

Dick Mc (cdmc) wrote :

wubi attempts to read from floppy disk B: even though .iso image was present in the same directory with wubi.exe. This leads to a "No Disk" message from Windows and a hung system (until I kill pyrun.exe). System is AMD Athlon 3200 with 2GB memory running Windows XP SP 3. Temporarily disabling the floppy disk controller in Windows allowed wubi.exe to run. Re-enabling the floppy controller after wubi.exe finished but before rebooting led to a working Ubuntu 9.10 system that correctly recognized both floppy disks. Since my workaround succeeded, I don't need this to be fixed.

In my particular case it was my DVD drive causing the problem. Once I disabled it, Wubi.exe ran fine. (at least it is so far!)
