Bug Description

Hi all

I had problems with WUBI 8.10 and large files (100 MB). I use Win XP and Ubuntu was installed with WUBI in a virtual partition on drive D. My computer is a HP Compaq 8510w.

At the beginning everything seemed fine. The problems occured when I wanted to download OpenFOAM-1.5 (AMD64, *.gtgz) from sourceforge.net (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=135709&package_id=148942&release_id=613491). When I downloaded the files with Firefox inside Ubuntu, the files were not downloaded completely and were corrupted. The same problem occured a few times when I wanted to download the files with Ubuntu running in a virtual machine (Virtualbox).

Then I tried to download the files with Windows and save them on the host drive D, boot Ubuntu and copy all files together to the virtual partition. This resulted in a freeze just before the end of the copy process, made a hard reboot necessary and killed my virtual partition (NTFS file system was not damaged).

Best regards
David

More information is needed, do you have an bottleneck in terms of disk space usage, memory, etc?

I can't imagine that there is a bottleneck. I have 45 GB free disc space and wanted to created a 30GB virtual partition. Memory shouldn't be a problem (2GB).

Unfortunately I don't have them anymore. But I tried to defragment my drive and install wubi again. So far everythings seems to be ok.
