wubi.exe install leads to grub prompt

Environment is 8.10 alpha 4, installing into a VirtualBox VM. Windows HDD is first virtual hard drive, WUBI is instructed to install on second drive. Primary and secondary drives are emulating IDE Master and Slave, respectively.

After selecting Wubi.exe install appears to proceed normally and I am prompted to reboot; on reboot Ubuntu does appear in the Windows boot loader menu. However when I select "Ubuntu" I am taken to a grub prompt.

Windows boot continues to work from this boot screen.

Press the insert key rapidly after selecting "Ubuntu" and report any error message you see.

I have the same problem. Here are the error messages I got after pressing insert:
