ubuntu 8.04 or wubi crashed vistas bootmanager

After installing the new 8.04 something (wubi) crashed vistas bootmanager. it was simply gone and couldn't be restored so windows wouldn't load again. I followed the programs installation and not the advanced option! ubuntu seem to be working fin, but not the bootmanager.

What do you mean bt "advanced option"? There should be no such alternative in a Wubi installation. Do you mean that you used "Install inside Windows" as opposed to "Demo and Full Installation"? Also, what are the items in your Windows boot menu, and what happens exactly when you try to boot windows?

I used "Demo and Full insstalllation" - I was doing a installation of
edubuntu on a second pc I think i got the "advanced option" mixed up from
that. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was ubuntu and ubuntu whit
something and then other operational system it was windows/longthorn. When I
booted in windows it just shut down and starded over again. sorry if it
isen't much help. But I am not accustomed to linux, I was just an
ekspiriment that didn't went well for my part.
