Bug Description

Even if I am connected to wi-fi it keeps displaying the icon that appears when you are disconnected from a wired connection. I have a laptop with a docking station, so I frequently switch between wired and wireless connections. This is most prone to happen while switching from wired to wireless.

We should probably prioritize showing the icon of a connected network over a disconnected network, regardless of which changed last

I'm experiencing the same issue with Vagrant, which adds Virtual Network interfaces. The "disconnected" icon appears because these virtual interfaces are disconnected, even though my wi-fi is working.

A post on Medium indicates that this issue has been fixed, but I'm still experiencing the problem with Vagrant and the latest version of elementary.

Wouldn't be easier if we just get the primary connection from nm.client ?

I'm also experiencing this issue and I have also found out that the network manager applet doesn't show any notification when connected successfully to a wireless network, it only notifies when it's disconnected from it.
