Bug Description

If I turn the wifi off and then want to turn it on again it doesn't work from the indicator.
I need to open Network Settings and turn it on from there.

What does "unable" mean? Is the wifi card not displayed in the indicator? Is t displayed but you can't click the toggle? Is there no toggle?

I have the "Wireless" toggle but it doesn't turn on if I click on it. Also the toggle is more white than the toggle of other indicators,as if I'm not allowed to switch it.
However I can turn it off if I was using wifi previously.

My wifi works perfect, is just that toggle.

I have the same problem, i can turn off my wifi by using the toggle, but can't use the toggle to turn in back on. I have to go to the network settings to turn it back on.

I've made modified deb package, where I bypassed the hardware_locked check. Now it works. Maybe you should add some setting to ignore the hardware lock state if the machine is reporting it incorrectly.
