Bug Description

I use an MSI Wind U100X netbook and after installing the netbook remix for jaunty, I noticed that after a period of time from installation, the window-picker-applet starts failing to load. In fact, my latest re-installation was because the netbook-remix-launcher started failing altogether.

The applet comes back when I switch desktop from netbook remix to classic and then switch it again.

Can you please attach your ~/.xsession-errors file to see if there is anything specific outputted by the panel or window-picker-applet before it closes.

Also, does the applet not start at all, or crashes during use?

affects: netbook-remix-launcher → window-picker-applet

I can report the same problem on the MSI Wind U100X, so ill can provide the necessary details. Once i've booted up the system, the xsession-errors file produces the following output:

/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Setting IM through im-switch for locale=en_GB.
Start IM through /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/all_ALL linked to /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/default.

The applet doesn't appear to start, however in the UNR desktop, there is space along the top where the window-picker should be. Switching desktops and then back to UNR does seem to load the windows picker.

What do you mean by space along the top where it should be? Is this space different than blank space in some manner?

the unr destop is the same size as before (when the window picker was there). along the top of the screen, where the window picker used to be, the wallpaper shows behind.

i have also placed the '/usr/lib/window-picker-applet' in my startup applications which still doesn't seem to load the windows picker.

Yes, that's exactly what the problem is on my MSI Wind.

I believe I am having at least a related issue on my Acer Aspire One. Occasionally Window-Picker will fail to load on start-up and I receive an error window asking whether it should be deleted from the panel. I will attach my .xsession-errors.
