Bug Description
Sourceforge is known to have added malware in the past, now they are doing it with Image Writer too.
Where can I get a clean copy?

What malware were you seeing?
I just tested the default link on the front page, and the download matches my md5sum of the installer in files/archive, along with the original on my local system that I uploaded to SF.
The expected md5sum is 0080b7125d62881
