Bug Description

Hi everyone
I have a 1TB portable WD My Passport hard drive with two partitions (1st is 916GB, last partition I'm writing Chrome OS image is 16GB) with Disk imager 0.5. during writing, it fails and keeps 929GB as unallocated space, one had been destroyed and splits into 12 partitions, each partitions are having random space.

Please fix this, My OS is Windows 8 (NT 6.2), Thanks!

What you are trying to do is not what this program was designed for. This program raw writes a disk image or partition. What you want to do is essentially write data to your new partition, ChromeOS in this case.

If the disk image you downloaded is for a 400M filesystem, then that is what you will end up with. This program will not resize your partitions to fill the empty space of the device being written to.

Changed in win32-image-writer:
status: New → Invalid
