Bug Description
Disappointingly, I cannot run either version of your python program. Also many error messages are in Spanish, which I am only meager at best at interpreting.

I also had to eliminate -Wno-unused-result, as GCC 4.3.2 doesn't understand this flag. You could use autoconf to enforce a version, or eliminate this flag for folks without the bleeding edge compiler.
