I noticed the three tribes have pretty similar descriptions of the ware "fire tongs", with one small exception.

./atlanteans/fire_tongs/conf:help=_The fire tongs are the tools of the smelter, working in the smelting works. They are produced by the toolsmith.
./barbarians/fire_tongs/conf:help=_The fire tongs are the tool of the smelter, working in the smelting works. Produced in the metal works (but ceases to be produced by the building if it is enhanced to an axefactory and war mill).
Atlanteans describe it as the "tools of the smelter" in plural, while barbarian and empire describe it as "tool" in singular. Wikitionary (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/fire_tongs) indicates fire tongs is always in plural, so I guess tools should be used in all descriptions.
I can probably make a patch to fix these, however, could anyone (preferably native English speaker) verify this is actually the correct form to use? It would be a shame to change it, only to have to correct it again later.

In my experience as a native American, the word "tongs" is, indeed plural, i.e. you never see "tong". However, each of these phrases are acceptable:
"Fire tongs are tools of the smelter."
"Fire tongs are a tool of the smelter."
"The tool of the smelter is fire tongs." ("is" refers to "the tool"-singular in this case).
