Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the editor.
2. Select tools.
3. Select terrain.
4. Select any of the terrains.

Despite the rest of the game is set to English (or to be precise "Try system language"), the names of the terrains appear in German. Thus, for instance schnee and wasser will be displayed if you select snow or water.

I have searched in Launchpad for some of the terrain types (both German and what I assumed the English names would be), but have been unable to find them. It seems these strings are not translatable.

Widelands version: bzr r5356 on Ubuntu 10.04.

Actually, these are the actual names of the terrains - in German to make importing maps from Settlers II possible. But it seems there's no name tag for terrain types, thus they're never translatable. Would be nice if added.

The comments in the terrainconfs indicate that it was a conscious choice to not make those strings translatable; the rationale is that this allows mapmakers to discuss designs without language confusion. Closing as won't fix.
