Bug Description

Xubuntu 17.10 in a VM
Widelands 1:19+repack-4

I get also crashes if i try to play any game while status "loading map".
Seems to be the same problem with my Manjaro installation on real hardware.

I guess it's the same issue caused by SDL2. See bug 1720819

Can you check the used version of SDL2?

libsdl2-2.0-0 is 2.0.6-dfsg1-3ubuntu1

I'll try some older versions of Ubuntu to figure this out

BTW:
If i install the virtualbox-guest-utils and -x11 packages the window permanently changes size for about 10 seconds and then it holds on a black screen, cursor blinking, no GUI...
