Bug Description

I've just test-played River Explorers, an official map, and was stuck after an hour or so because it was not possible to grow any woods on the ashes type soil which occupies all of the visible lands. Is this intentional? If this is an older map, I doubt it is. Rather it looks like an undesired effect of modifications to the plant growing system. Please check!

Do you have a savegame? This will make bugfixing easier for us, so we don't have to play for an hour as well :)

Thanks!

The ground is "Igneous Rocks", which has a chance less than 5% to grow a tree. So, we need to either tweak the values for this terrain or to replace it with one of the Ashes or Hard Ground terrains.

Since it is an official map, it should be solved for build 19.

Changing the terrain is imho the easiest solution. I look into it.

The terrain was changed with the tree redesign, so we will need to put a new terrain. I will do it, if someone hasn't already.

If someone knows the growth value trees were supposed to have on igneous rock in build 18, i could use a similar terrain. otherwise, it will need a bit of experimenting

The ingenious rocks is already changed. I tried to use terrains which fit most with the already placed trees on this terrain :-)

Looks like Igneous Rocks is the Wasteland version of Mountain Meadow now, so it not liking trees is by design.

So, changing the map is the way to go - I will do some testing on Kaputtnik's new map.

igneous rock has nothing to do with moountain meadow. mountain meadow grows around 60%, and is mirrored by ashes in wasteland. the counterpart of igneous rock is barren steppe.

attached a modified map.

I mixed them up then.

I guess you overlooked the conversation that kaputtnik already modified the map :(
