Bug Description

Posts like this make me sad :(

https://wl.widelands.org/forum/topic/1597/?page=3#post-11985

Widelands is thought to be about building up, not burning down. I am sad that military is the only aspect of interaction in the game right now - this will change with trade - but still I strongly believe that Widelands is about economy, not warfare.

I want to strengthen this point by making the Collectors win condition the first in the list.

Collectors is the way Widelands is supposed to be played - you get points for a strong economy, if you grow your military you loose points (because the high level military wares are worth the most). You need to balance your army so that you are not overrun, but
in the end you want to have the most points.

Wood gnome should go second - because it is charming to grow trees and win through this.

The other win conditions should go last - they are not good representatives of Widelands, though they are very logical for a RTS.

This is up for discussion - I feel very strongly about collectors... and strongly about Widelands being not about War :(.

I agree: Collectors give a great, interesting play, because there are different things to look at: basically a good economy as always, a bit of military to defend yourself, not too much, so that you don't burnout yourself in the soldier production. You have to defend your warehouse with the points. The game has a clear ending, but every player can still have the economy put effort in to build (not a field of ash like in Autocrat).

Making Collector/woodgnome/whatever the default would already make a difference. Also the ongoing tournament sets some standards.

Seems like we have a consensus here, so I'll set this to confirmed.

What shall the complete order be? I suggest:

Collectors
Wood Gnome
Territorial Time
Territorial Lord
Autocrat
Endless Game
Endless Game (no fog)

We should do this for b19, because it will break the savegames due to renaming the win condition scripts. We could also add a config file similar to campaigns.conf to define the order of the scripts rather than using numbers in the scripts' names.

order lgtm. And you are right about this breaking compatibility - did not thing about this. A configuration file is probably the better solution anyways, if we do it, we should do it for the starting conditions too - I think we rely on ordering there too.

I will add an init.lua file for the starting conditions in the one_tribe branch.
