Bug Description

I recently saw the hint "Pressing and holding the ALT GR key lets you drag the window below the mouse pointer." when loading a game. Curious because I had never used that feature I wanted to try it out, but it did not work.

Expected result:
From my understanding, I have to put the mouse pointer over a window and then press ALT GR (and hold it). When I move the mouse pointer, the window also moves. I do not have to press a mouse button (LMB moves the window without ALT GR, RMB closes it).

Actual result:
Pressing the ALT GR key has no influence. The window does not move (I tried it with several ones).

Some more information:
r6968 on Win7; I tried both fullscreen and windowed mode; I tried with OpenGL on and off.

My question: Didn't I do it correctly, is this a problem with my laptop or is this a feature not longer supported?

This is a Linux feature - most Window managers support that. It was never a Widelands specific feature I do not think. This hint should just be removed.

No, it is a Widelands feature, Linux window managers have no idea about Widelands windows.

But:

No, not really. The idea of it is to disable any input controls, so you can use LMB to move the window even when clicking on buttons. The Minimap for example can then be moved by pressing AltGr and dragging it by clicking anywhere on the map.

On Linux, this works with AltGr, Alt and Shift+Meta (windows-key). I have no time to test it on windows.

Thanks for clarifying. I can confirm that this works on Windows with Alt, Shift, and AltGr.
I am still unsure if this feature is really necessary: Moving the mouse to the border of the window is usually faster then searching the key.
If you think the feature should be kept, the text of the hint should be changed to clarify what it means.

I didn't know this feature existed and it is rather useless indeed. +1 for removing it and the hint.
