wicd wep adhoc mode not connecting

Bug Description
wicd 1.7.2 will not connect to a wep ad-hoc network as the encryption template is missing a mode line. I have attached a patch which adds this mode line. I assume this only works for wep as the man page for wpa_supplicant.conf states:
mode - IEEE 802.11 operation mode; either 0 (infrastructure, default) or 1 (IBSS). Note that IBSS (adhoc) mode can only be used with key_mgmt set to NONE (plaintext and static WEP).
