Bug Description

i have a hidden wep shared key network.
but wicd cant remember its name when i've inserted it once.
instead the name results: \x00\x00\x00 one for each letter.
when wicd try autoconect it says wrong password.

i have to go to find hidden, give correct name, then \x00 mask is replaced with correct essid and i can connect.

wicd 1.7.1b2

I just had a chance to try this on a new laptop I loaded up (previously have 1.7.0 installed).

- On starting up the desktop (kde3.5), I now have three icons in the tray for wicd. I removed wicd-tray.desktop from ~/.kde3/Autostart/ folder, and from /etc/xdg/autostart/ and now just have a single icon loading. For reference, where is the third .desktop file located? Is there any way to have the GUI application disallow multiple running copies on a single user's desktop?

- I am now unable to add a hidden ssid from the network drop-down menu in the GUI. When I enter my ssid, wicd rescans, but cannot find the name.

+ After manually adding the block of information for my ssid to wireless-settings.conf from an old backup, and restarting wicd, my wifi is now displayed in the GUI. I am able to connect to the network with no problems.

+ After rebooting the computer, wicd reconnected to my hidden ssid. The GUI displays my ssid properly (not using the /x00 format), and the config file still contains the correct ssid.

This is a big leap forward and makes wicd usable once again for my network. Thanks for the great work!
