Hi iankohtao,

in the attachment you can find a simple bash script that add wicd to the sys-tray whitelist.
I hope can help you in automatizing the operations.

About the issue related to the "hidden network": I confirm this issue, but you should probably fill a new bug report for that (the issue related to the sys-tray icon is not a wicd's issue).
I will do it if I have time.
