Bug Description

Hai all,
I was testing lubuntu, It was a Ubuntu remix (koala karmic) switched to LXDE with APT on a MSI Wind U100. After I switched to LXDE I wanted to connect to my wirelles network using WEP.... Ok its validated and obtaining Ip adress in the status bar... But after a while I got an error message " Connection failed:Unable to get IP adress " is it a bug or not......thank you..

I have a similar problem on Ubuntu Karmic (Wicd 1.6.1).
At booting time, about one time out of two, either with the wireless or the Ethernet network, after a certain amount of time trying to obtain an IP address, I have the message "Connection failed:Unable to get IP adress".
It also occurs when I unplug my Ethernet wire and plug it again on another port. Getting the IP address takes a very long time. Sometimes, I reboot, because it is faster.

Hi!

I had the same problem until I disabled IPv6. This is how I did it: as root open the file /etc/sysctl.conf and add "net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1" in a new line. Maybe that'll help.
